Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda generator, engine vacuum, honda generator

david- i pull out the choke and the engine starts right up.  the i push the choke in and the engine runs like it should and it makes electricity. when i turn on the auto throttle the engine dies. also, the engine sometimes pulses or surges after i try to use the auto throttle. the carb is brand new.  any thoughts?  thanks very much. -steve

First off how fresh is the gasoline that is in the fuel tank of the generator?

The choke is most likely controlled by engine vacuum.  Make sure that the hoses to the control module are not torn. cracked, etc.  It they are this may be the result of your problem.  Give this a try
