Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mower stalls when hot, simplicity riding mower, gas cap

Question
i have a simplicity riding mower and my problem is that when the mower runs for a period of time it stalls. if i let it sit for an hour or until it cools off only then will it start up again. any suggestions on where to start looking for problem.  thank you

Answer
When it stops, loosen the gas cap.  If it runs then, replace the cap, it's not venting.  After that, check for spark.  If no spark, probably the coil is bad.

If there is a spark, check for fuel flowing to the carburetor.  If it has a fuel pump, pull the fuel line off at the carburetor and stick the hose into a bottle or something and crank the engine over.  If there's no fuel, then probably a bad pump or oil-soaked impulse line.

Try these and let me know what you find.  Thanks, PK.
