QUESTION: The fuel is running out of the 17 HP Kawasaki carb. into the air filter.  Prior to this it was surging a bit at lower rpm's, and of course now it will not start.  Always started first pull until yesterday when this fuel draining problem began.  How do I fix the problem.  Thank you!

ANSWER: Is the gas continuously leaking out of the carburetor or only when you try to start it? I have seen it many times where it would leak out when trying to start and usually ends with it being a stuck intake valve?

QUESTION: Yes the gas is continually leaking out of the carb.  I am thinking I have a bad float/other, and that I will need to rebuild the carburetor.

Yea,you need to rebuild the carburetor but nine times out of ten you can reuse the same stuff that's in it.Sounds to me like the float is stuck and the gas is just free flowing into it?If you need any help doing this yourself just let me know and I will try to talk you through it.
