Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere 212 doesnt stay running, john deere 212, kohler engine

This mower has a 16hp Kohler engine. After the mower gets warm and I shut down the PTO for the mower deck and then go to turn it back on it will not come back on until after it has cooled down about 45 - 60 minutes later. Any suggestions?

Does the problem happen is turn the deck on and then turn it off with 30 seconds to a minute?  Or, does the problem happen when you run the deck for a period of time?

Do you have a volt meter?  You can check the power at the clutch connector to see if 12 volts DC is getting to the clutch when you go to turn it back on.
