Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): ECHO STRING TRIMMER, echo string trimmer, straight shaft

Question
DEAR BEN,
I HAVE AN ECHO STRING TRIMMER.STRAIGHT SHAFT SRM 230. THE HEAD SPINS BUT IT IS RUNNING REALLY SLUGGISH.  I AM GUESSING THAT MY EMPLOYEES ARE PUTTING TOO MUCH OIL IN THE GAS.  HOW DO I FIX OR CLEAN THIS UP TO GET IT GOING AGAIN? I'M TIRED OF THE EXPENSE OF SENDING IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND HONESTLY NEED IT PRETTY QUICK.

First thing would be to mark the gas cans with the correct fuel mixture on the can so that they see the ratio. If you say the engine is sluggish or the head is you may have a bad cable that goes from the engine to the trimmer head. If that is ok use a little less oil in the trimmer fuel so it can burn the extra oil off, then  change the spark plug air filter and spray the carb with a good carb cleaner to make sure it is not gummed up.
