Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler K181, safety switch, new spark

Question
QUESTION: I have a K181 where I've changed the points, condenser, stator and all the associated wiring.  The points have been set and grounded properly. Condensor is new and is grounded properly. New spark plug is gapped and checked to see if there is a spark.  I get no spark,  Stator is old-new-in-box and matches the exact one that was original.  I disconnected the grounded switch (which is working).  I've checked and double checked wiring/grounds but to no avail.  Thanks in advance for any knowledge I may have overlooked.  I currently have a new condensor just in case it was bad out of the box.

ANSWER: sounds like a bad safety switch to me.

QUESTION: Looking at both the Gravely manual/parts list and the Kohler parts/manual, I
don't see a reference to a safety switch.  If the safety switch is electrical, the
wiring diagrams I found on the internet for Gravely/Kohler, don't reference it
either.  The only switch is the on/off key switch.  It only has a recoil start so
there is no starter motor.

Answer
How does the side of the flywheel look,is it rusty looking? Perhaps if you sanded it down you could get the magnetic spark through to the coil and eventually to the plug. I was unsure what kind of engine it was earlier and your right, there is no safety switch on it. If you still have trouble let me know and I can reference your specific engine and get the whats up! on it.
