Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Rider Sitting for a while, craftsman riding lawnmower, constant headache

Hey,

I have an opportunity to get a free Craftsman Riding lawnmower, but it has sat for a very long time without being used (close to 6yrs).  I'm wondering if it's going to be a constant headache or problem free.   It ran like a dream before so if I change the gas, plugs, and oil will it be rougly the same??

I suspect the carburetor will needattery to be rebuilt, the fuel lines changed, the tank cleaned and fuel pump, if it has one, and battery replaced.  Other things to look for are mouse nests and wires that are chewed through.  

Other than those things you should be okay.  You may run into the odd problem, but once the above are taken care of, you'll probably have a good mower.
