Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ingition Module Homelite ST 385C, boom boom boom, point blade

Question
Howdy John! My ignition module is out again on the 1991 Homelite ST385. This is 2nd mod failure since I 1st contacted you about how to get to module. I could take this machine apart blindfolded now.

This time, the plug wire melted on the cylinder head. There is no exhaust leak.  Could module failures be due to excessive heat (running too lean?). First module (Japanese) lasted 15 years, second one (Phelon) about 20 hours, this last one (Chinese), about 30  minutes. I'm brush cutting with 80 tooth saw blade, gentle this time though, but running engine wind full out. In fact, this ignition module failure stuff started when I swapped to the brush blade from self tapping string head about a year ago...then boom, boom boom, three modules shot.

Also, do you know who makes a good ignition module (Homelite part 94711CS)?

Your thoughts on this are appreciated.

Thanks and God bless you!

Ed

Answer
Overspeeding/overheating is a problem when using a blade, because it
acts like a flywheel and once it gets going it keeps going faster
and on.
A fine toothed blade is great on thick woody stuff, and I get up
speed a bit before hitting it, but on the smaller stuff, it just keep it going fast by gentle pulses from the engine, never full
blast.

If you are mainly cutting just thick tall grass, a tri-point blade
is easier to use.
Or go back to a string head with a gator line with the arimid fiber.

The brand of coil will be determined by what Homelite is selling
at the moment, an older part might be found on e-bay and be
the better made one
