Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman WeedWacker #358.796121, craftsman weedwacker, starter clutch

Question
The pull rope will not engage the starter clutch.  How do you get the starter clutch off?

Answer
There is a screw in the center of the clutch drum to remove the drum.  Usually this screw is a torx or allen head screw.  Once the clutch drum is off you can remove the clutch.  You will need to use string with knots tied in it and insert it in the spark plug hole to keep the engine from turning when you unsrew the clutch.  Leave enough string hanging out so you can remove it.

If the starter pulley is not engageing the flywheel starter pawls make sure the starter paws are not binding or seized.
