Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Huskey lawn mower, plastic screw, trailer hitch

I have a huskey  mower 18.5 hp 42" cut hydro when it get hot it I can't get it to go backwards and going forward i have to rock it. Is the transmission over heating and if so How do i remove the plastic screw without breaking it? Thanks

Hi Diane,  I don't understand what you mean when you are asking "How do I remove the plastic screw without breaking it"  For the life of me i cant figure out what you mean.  Please explain or perhaps even attach a photo to a follow up message.

Make sure your transmission bypass rod is not pulled out.  This is located on thee rear of the tractor, near the trailer hitch.  Make sure it is completely pushed in.

Another thing my be as simple as your drive belt needs to be replaced.
