Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet LT1042 PTO, engine vibration

Question
After trying to remove the lower pulley to install a new drive belt to no avail I gave up. When I went to start it up to put it on the trailer to haul it to a shop. The motor was vibrating heavily. Upon inspection the wires to the PTO were tore in half. Can the wires be fixed? Did I over-tighten the bolt. Any help will be appreciated, the new PTO is $200 plus and then having someone install on top of that. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks!

Answer
The pto has a notch in it that will fit into a spot on the frame or will have a bracket for locking it in place.  It sounds like you didn't get it back on right.  This happens pretty often. The wires should be replaceable or at least fixable.  The bigger worry would be internal engine damage from all that weight spinning around.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks, PK.
