Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): small engine, gas trimmer, control valve

I recenlt tuned up my 4-cycle Ryobi gas trimmer.  I also took the carburetor apart and cleaned it.  Now it starts with choke on but when I open the choke to full open it cuts off.  What could be the issues?

Hello LeAndre, adjustment of the choke valve is usually limited to the adjustment of the choke linkage between the control handle or the carburetor and control valve.First remove the air cleaner and check the operation of the choke valve as it is being opened and closed. It should operate free. If you need to clean the the entire cable soak it in kerosene for a few minutes. I hope this helps!
