Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): hydrostatic trans, info numbers, new holland

Question
My 1999 New Holland LS55 with hydrostatic trans wont move when hot. Had problem last summer after about 1/2 hr of continuous use.  Worked great all winter with snowblower in cold weather. I can tell as soon as unit gets hot top speed slows way down and tractor wont go up hills at all.

Answer
I looked online for any info on this model, did not see anything that
didn't cost $40 to download.

In general, check the cooling area, filters, belt tightness, fluid
level, etc.

If you can find some info/numbers on the trans, that may help,
but other than the things I have mentioned above, the cost and repair
will be quite involved.

New Holland likely buys their smaller mowers from another company,
but I have no idea who they are.
That company buys the trans from one of a few companies, and I have
no idea which one.
But if the cooling area, filter, belt, fluid level thing does not apply/help, then you are likely looking at some expense....
