Hello John, you have a 2 cycle engine. Timing of the magneto is seldom necessary. However, timing the the magneto to the engine consists of adjusting the stator plate assembly, which includes the coil, and the laminated yoke. Also look carefully and see if they have timing marks, if they don't mark the two parts and then take them off if you are going too replace the parts.
