Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Chainsaw repair -fuel line routing, craftsman chainsaw, poulans

Question
QUESTION:  I have a craftsman chainsaw Model# 358-352680, I replaced fuel lines, primer bulb, and also replaced leaky Carb. Diaphram(s) with new [including gaskets] ... Saw starts and runs for few seconds, but won't stay running. if I push primer bulb it starts and runs for a few seconds.. checked obvious;has fuel, spark plug good, fuel appears to be going thru lines etc...What seems to be problem?

ANSWER: These Poulans are notorious for having screws loosen and fall out.
Look on the bottom of the saw and check those 4 bolts, they hold the
whole saw together, also check the block that the carb is bolted
to.

If all looks good there, then we need to go back to the carb and the
fuel lines, and make sure they are correct.

When going through the carb, it is essential to remove the spring/
lever/needle, and blow out that passage and hold it up to a light
and make visually sure that the passage is clear.

The routing of the fuel lines is important and easy to mix up,
so if you are not sure of the routing, we can go into that, but
check those other areas first.

Thanks,

QUESTION: perhaps , I do have fuel lines misrouted on my Craftsman cahinsaw - what is the correct route for each fuel line

Answer
The carb has two covers, one held on with 1 screw, the other has 4.
The nipple closest to the one screw cover, is the one that goes to the fuel filter in the bottom of the tank.

The primer bulb, fuel only flows one way, which is easy enough to
figure out by watching the bubbles.
The bulb pulls fuel from the carb, and returns it to the tank,so
hook the short line from the other nipple to the suction nipple on the primer, and the other one to the tank.
