What type of gas should I use with the saw?  The owners manual says only use regular, yet Stihl rep at local hardware store says use high test with the oil mixture.

Hi Jim, high performance two cycle engines like higher octane. I always use a minimum of mid grade unleaded plus the correct mix oil. However it will not hurt at all to use high test gas. The saw will operate on regular unleaded but the performance will suffer as will the longevity of the engine.
