Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): go kart, briggs and stratton, problem thanks

i dont know why the 5 hp horizontil shaft briggs and stratton wont run.  It has gfas and the spark plug has a spark.  Please help

Well you need to isolate the problem.  First thing to do is remove
the air filter and squirt some fuel or carb spray into the carb and try to start, if it starts and runs for a second or two, then you
know it is a fuel related issue.

  Try that first and let me know.  Also find and post the engine's
model numbers, and also give some backround about it, like talk
about the last time it was running, and anything done to it since then, like replaced a part, etc..
 That would be helpful in trying to figure out the problem,
