Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Electric starter for riding mower, old screwdriver, briggs stratton

Question
Hi John, i have Husqvarna model#YTH2448T with 24HP Briggs & Stratton model 445677 Type 0413 E1. I could not start the engine a & starter not even turn. I replace with new starter solenoid 4 poles. How can I trouble shooting the starter? can I feed 12Vdc directly to starter for a test? I check most of the wirring connections and ignition switch, and they are seem OK. Any comment is appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Yes, you can go directly from the battery to the starter, and rule out the starter, or just cross the two big terminals on the solenoid with an old screwdriver.
You can go to Milaca Lawn and Garden's website, and look up your
tractor, and it has an excellent wiring schematic.

Did the mower not start sitting over winter?  It ran out of fuel?
Something significant happen?  Died while mowing?

Let me know,
