Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Stihl 009L Chainsaw oil leak, diaphram pump, sure what kind

Question
Hello Timothy Jerome,
I'm the proud owner of a Stihl 009L Chainsaw. It has recently started leaking oil. This oil is coming from the auto bar oiler. Where is the oil pump? I understand it's a diaphram pump. I'm thinking the diaphram may be torn or something. Any Ideas? I was looking for a parts diagram when I came upon this most excellent site. I sure appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Bob L

Answer
Hello Bob, I am also a proud owner of Stihl chainsaw, (MS441)excellent machine. When it comes to a Stihl chainsaw you are talking top of line in chainsaws. The question about your oil pump you might not even have one reason being is it is a special option on certain types of Stihl chainsaws.Look in your instruction manual and make sure what kind of pump you have. If you have a diaphram pump a very good chance is that the rubber diaphram is cracked. In order to maintain good order is to take it in to a authorized dealer in your neck of the woods. Happy decision making!
