Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Poulan 2150 fuel line replacement, needle nose pliers, wd 40

Question
How do I replace the fuel line from the fuel tank to the primer bulb? The existing fuel line had a little plastic in line connector on one end of the fuel line located inside the tank at the top where the fuel line penetrated the fuel tank wall.  There was not any fuel line connected to this connector inside the tank?  Confusing to me!

I cut the end of the new fuel line at an angle and attempted to push it through the top of the fuel tank.  The new fuel line is not stiff enough to get through the hole even after I sprayed the hole and fuel line with WD-40.  Does the new fuel line go all the way through to the  bottom of the tank once I get it through the hole or does it stop at the top of the tank.

There are several issues here I really could use some help on!
Thanks,
Leroy

Answer
Hello Leroy:

>>If the Pickup Line has Rotted Off, then the Fuel Filter should be Laying in the Bottom of the Tank.
>>I Usually Melt the First 1" of the New Line and Push it through the Hole, then Using Needle Nose Pliers, Pull the Hose Into the Tank and Out a Few Inches so I can Replace the Fuel Filter.
>>Now Pull the Line back Into the Tank Until the Filter is Resting Approximately 1/2" from the Opening.
>>Cut and Attach the New Line to the Carburetor.
>>The Return Line is the Only Line that Stops at 1/4" Inside the Tank.
>>You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog Poulan/Weed Eater.
