Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): adjusting power chute assbly on snowthrower, power chute, mtd snowthrower

Question
Have a new MTD snowthrower with the joy stick chute.  While I would have preferred the old style this was all I had avail at the time I needed a new one.  the chute gets alot of adjusting with the vast area I blow.  It has already gotten so that it will not old left to right position so I must manually hold position while blowing and now the mech seems to have locked up to adjust the vertical discharge as well. Would appreciate a source on how to service or advice.  The model # is 31AH6ZLB704  with a Briggs engine.  Thanks

Answer
Hello Gary:

>>I had a Questioner about 4 to 6 Weeks Ago with the Same Problem and I Believe MTD makes a Kit to Change the Chute from Electric to Manual.
>>This being the Weekend, I cannot Contact my MTD Rep to Get you the Kit Number and it is Almost Impossible for me to Locate the Questioner that Asked about the Kit.
>>The Way the Site is Set up, It is Almost Impossible for me to Do Research and then Locate the Questioner I was Doing the Research for.
>>That is Why I Ask for a Reminder from Questioners that I am Doing Research for. It Makes it Easier for me and I can be Sure they get the Information as Soon as I have it.
>>Are you Sure this is a Model 31AH6ZLB704 and Not a Model 31H6ZLG704?
>>If you Wish, You can Contact MTD at 1-800-269-6215 at during the following times: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 11am-3pm EST. (SEASONAL HOURS MAY VARY).
>>Tell them you are Searching for the Manual Chute Adjustment Kit to Replace the Electric Chute Adjuster Due to Problems with the Electric Adjuster.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
