Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): No Gas, craftsman snowblower, jet adjustment

Question
QUESTION: I have a Craftsman Snowblower Model #536.885212.The engine Model #143.015071. I took the carb off an cleaned all the passage ways & blew air threw them to make sure they were open. Checked to make sure I had good spark. Put new spark plug in an new gas mixture. Tried to start but would not start sprayed starter fluid in an would run until it used it up. Didn't change needle an set in carb an did not take compression reading yet. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!

ANSWER: Very simple, the carb is not cleaned correctly. Most people (non-technicians) do not understand the circuitry of the fuel system with in the carburetor, thus not truly knowing where to clean. Either you missed a hole in the main jet, or your needle is stuck in the closed position.........Tom

QUESTION: Say that the carb is supposedly clean is there some thing eles I should look at?

Answer
yes if the needle valve is hanging up, and not opening to allow fuel in....With all due respect I don't believe the main jet is clean, and all holes are unobstructed.........Tom

get a complete rebuild kit for it replace the parts, and re-clean, and I assure you it will be fixed..just make sure the kit comes with a main jet..set the main jet adjustment screw to an initial 1 /1/2 turns out from seat position, low mixture screw to 1 turn out from seated position.
