Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): hot coil, volt supply, charlie charlie

I just had a kohler K321AQS spec 60343d ser 9557410 rebuild from crank up. I installed eng and hooked up wires. After 5 min running ,ign coil is very hot. Just to confirm wire from switch goes to postive or neg on coil Thanks for help Charlie

you don't need battery current to the coil. make sure the "I" terminal wire from the trigger is connected to the coil. and there is a wire from the key switch on the coil terminal also, to ground out the ignition when you shut the engine off.

The black wire running back to the switch must be the kill wire for the coil not a 12 volt supply wire
