Buick/Olds: 2001 Buick Regal blower motor, vacuum motor, buick regal

Question
Hallo.
About 2001 Buick Regal LS, not supercharged with manual
temperature control.
Two weeks ago I began notice that after I start engine sometimes the blower motor did not start. I tried to change position lever from Low to Hi, but it does not work. After five minutes when I drive, blower motor starts and I can use A/C. Sometimes it takes only 2 minutes, but sometimes more. When blower motor does not working I changed mode lever from vent to defrost and I hear the sound like the door in the air delivery duct changed their position. And I think the vacuum persist. What can I check up myself before going to dealer?
 Thanks for your help  Mikhail

Answer
Hallo Mikhail,
This is a common problem in GM products. It seems there are inherent weaknesses in the vacuum system, allowing the "automatic feature" to malfunction. Check all vacuum hoses to assure that there are no leaks, and that you do indeed have vacuum .Sometimes the "head" (control on the dash) needs replaced, as the electric contacts become corroded and/or the internal parts wear out.
It is also possible that the "vacuum motor" is worn.
Your service dept. can ascertain which parts need replacing.
