Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Broken teeth on bendix/ flywheel, briggs and stratton, ring gears

Question
QUESTION: Not sure what the part is called but I have teeth that are broken and/or missing on the bendix gear of my Murray Groundforce 3, 12 hp 38" riding lawnmower.  model 38633X92A  serial 95341-197365.
I need some assistance as to the true name of this part and where to buy another

ANSWER: The bendix gear is the gear on the end of the starter, (sometimes called starter drive) the other teeth are located on the flywheel, and is called the flywheel ring gear. Some of the flywheel ring gears can be replaced, but on some models the ring gear, and flywhel have to be replaced as one......lol

QUESTION: Do you have any idea on this model lawnmower if I need to get the ring gear and flywheel or just the ring gear? Either way, I would like to find the part so I can get it fixed.  It seems this mower is too old to be able to just look up by its model number.  I really need to know what part to order.  Thanks for your assistance!

Answer
Your not giving me much to go on seeing I cant see whats broken, are the teeth broken on the flywheel or starter drive? Is it a Tecumseh engine, or Briggs and Stratton...I need a engine model number not the mower model number..The reason you can't look up the model number is Murray went bankrupt years ago, and was then bought out by Briggs and Stratton....Tom
