Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Brake/clutch, lawn tractor, rear end

Question
i have a 11hp rally riding lawn tractor the chain in the rear end broke so i fixed it and then put it back in and now when i push my clutch down it makes the tractor move why do u think that happened?

Answer
Hi Kyle,
Did you have the drive belt off? It sounds like you've got the belt around the tensioner idler wrong and it's tightening the belt when you push the clutch instead of loosening it. Just remember that the back side of the belt goes around a flat idler and the "vee" side of the belt goes around a "vee" idler. Hope this helps.
