game when trying to start engine stop Turing over on compressions stroke i have adjusted exhaust valve clearance i don't think the compression release is working ?? Ron

Briggs had some problems with the compression release on the cam breaking. You can watch the exhaust rocker arm as you come up on TDC compression stroke. You should see the arm rock open slightly near TDC. If it doesn't, it may need a new cam. Just be sure you've got your clearance set at .004 intake and .007 exhaust.
