Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Poulan 3400 needle valve setting, zama carburetors, needle valve

Question
I have rebuilt the carb on my 3400 but am lost to where the metal flap that connects to the needle valve should be
adjusted to.  No gauge came with the carb kit.  Saw will not fire off, but believe it is the adjustment on this flap
causing the problem.  Getting fuel and spark tho'.

Answer
Hello Owen:

>>The Needle Actuating Arm is Set so the Diaphragm Tip (metal tip in center of diaphragm) is Just Touching the Needle Arm.
>>Here is a Site that has Chainsaw Carburetor Information; you can Get Technical Information on Zama Carburetors at this Site Addy; http://www.zamacarb.com/tips.html and Select the Technical Guide. This Guide should Assist you in Correcting the Problem with this Carburetor. All Trimmer/Chain Saw Carburetors are Basically the Same and the Specification for the Meetering Valve Actuating Arm are Basically the Same for Walbro, Zama and Tillotson Chainsaw/Trimmer Carburetors.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
