Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): poulan chainsaw fuel spills from muffler, speed jet, carburetor

Question
I have a poulan 180 pro. Was running fine one day then the next I couldn't get it to start and keep running. At first it would run for a minute then it would cut off. Then I noticed fuel leaking out of the muffler. I assume its got something to do with carburater. Got any answers? Thank you

Sometimes the reason that happens is because the carb can not breathe, due to dirt and other build up. Take the exhaust screen off and clean out the carbon on the screen if you have one.

Remove the air cleaner and inspect the choke plate mounted on a shaft at the opening of the carburetor's throat. Check that the choke plate closes easily and completely. A choke that does not move freely or close properly can cause difficulties in starting.

Spray a small amount of carburetor cleaner on the shaft of a sluggish choke and into the venturi to loosen grit. Debris in the carburetor often causes performance problems.
You may have to adjust the low speed jet, could be either rich or lean. If the engine stalls or hesitates when going from idle it full speed it's lean.

Of course I just made the assumption that the jets are adjustable.
