Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snowblower loss power, assembly drawings, rotor blade

Question
Hi John,

I have a Toro CCR 3000 GTS Model #38435 Ser.#7905144.  I was blowing snow last week when it suddenly loss power.  It still runs but  at a very low speed, it hardly turns the rotor blade.  It starts ok but it just will not go into a high speed to blow any snow.  It has been working perfectly and there was no other indication of any kind of trouble.  It also had a tank of fresh gas from the week before this happen.  Would appreciate any advice you could give me to help fix this problem.  Thank you for your time.

Ron

Answer
Hello Ron:

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm and Select Start Parts Viewer. Now Enter the Model Numbers (38435) and Click Search. Now Select View Assembly Drawings for your Year Model. Check the Spring from the Throttle Control Bracket to the Governor Arm (#55). Is the Spring Still Connected to the Throttle Control and the Governor Arm? Can you Make the Engine Rev Up by Moving the Governor Arm? Did you Check the Exhaust Port and Muffler? If Either of these are Restricted with Carbon Deposits, then the Engine May Run at Idle but will Flood when you Try to Rev the Engine above Idle. The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Doing a Diagnostic on the Engine for this Problem. Any Input is Appreciated. **Remove the Muffler and Make Sure the Exhaust Port is Clear. If it is, then Try to Start the engine with the Muffler Off. If it Starts and Runs Properly, then Clean the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler or Replace the Muffler if Required. Are the Crankcase Bolts Still Tight? Are there Any Holes or Tears in the Primer Hose? If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
