Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): small engine AC starter, push button switch, starter solenoid

Question
My father is 88 years old and has a hard time starting his lawn mower.  Is there an adaptor available you can hook to an electric drill with a socket attachment to the flywheel that will start a small engine??

Answer
Hello Bob:

There Used to be Such an Adapter like you Described, but I haven't Seen or Heard of this Type of Starter Unit in Over 25 Years. The Starter you Described was Often Misused, Dangerous and was Discontinued. However, Depending on the Make, Model and Engine Size; you can Usually Purchase a Flywheel (sometimes Just a Starter Ring Gear to Put on your Engines Flywheel), an Ign Switch (Push Button Switch will Often Work Best for a Push Mower Unit), a Starter, Starter Solenoid, Some 10 or 12 gauge Wire and Bolts and Change your Engine Over to Manual or Electric Start. Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
