Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda HS724 snowblower with auger problem, bolt system, shear pins

Question
I just purchased a brand new 6.5hp HS724 and have put it to work immediately.  It seems to pick up and throw small snow loads with no problem, but yesterday I put it to the test on about 10" of fresh snowfall, somewhat wet and heavy.  I definitely had to cut way back on the speed for the engine to keep up, as well as do a lot of back-and-forth.  It got to a point, though, where the blower was just pushing a lot of snow up in front as it moved forward, at which time I noticed that the right auger had stopped spinning, while the left one kept going.  After reducing the load on the auger (i.e., backing off), the right would start spinning again.  I thought this HAD to be a shear pin break for the right auger, but the pin looks fine!  Also, the actual engine operation doesn't have any problems at all.  I'm under the impression that the augers should always spin as long as they're engaged and the shear pins are good..... Am I missing something?  Won't the engine die out if there's so much load to stop the augers?

Answer
Hello Steve:

The Newer Snow Throwers Use a "Boss Lock" System and Not the Shear Pin/Bolt System. I Myself Prefer the Old Shear Pin/Bolt System. The Best Way to Explain this System is to have you View the Breakdown. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Select Snow Blower. Now Scroll to your Model and Select. Now Select the Auger File. I Suggest you Use the Control File and Locate the Pan Screw that Opens the Throttle and Increase the Engines RPMs about 1 Turn of the Pan Screw. This should Increase the Engine Speed Enough to Prevent Stalling/Bogging when Under a Heavy Load and 1 Turn is Not Enough to Cause Over Rev of the Engine. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
