Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 15 hp briggs, hp briggs, vacuum line

Question
Hello John My problem is the fuel system. It dosn,t pump. I removed the fuel line from the carb and turned over the engine. No fuel came out. Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hello Grant:

Are the Spring Style Hose Clamps Still Used on the Fuel Lines? If Yes, then Replace them with the Screw Style Hose Clamps and Replace the Vacuum Hose Clamps Also. Make Sure the Fuel Pump is Primed. A Slight Amount of Air Pressure in the Gas Tank will Push the Gas through the Pump and Up to the Carburetor Inlet Port. Once the Pump is Primed and the Problem still Exists, then Remove the Vacuum Hose from the Pump. Turn the Engine and Hold your Finger Over the Vacuum Line. If you Feel the Pulsing Vacuum, then the Vacuum Line is Clear. If the Vacuum Line is Clear, then Replace the Fuel Pump. I Usually Replace the Vacuum Style Fuel Pump with the Electric Pulse Pump (Mr Gasket Part Number 12S) and Wire the Electric Pump to the Ign Switch with a Fused Wire. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
