Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 18 hp kohler, vice grip pliers, gas line antifreeze

Question
The engine was warming up and stalled.I put gas line antifreeze in, made sure the fuel pump was working and took carb off and drained the fluid in the bowl. The engine will fire and stall out. I can keep it running when pouring gas into the carb.

Answer
Hello Gary:

Is the Gas Free Flowing to the Carburetor Inlet Port? If Yes, then Remove the Carburetor from the Engine. Now Remove the Carburetor Bowl, Pivot Pin, Float, and Needle Valve. The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Removing Carburetors on Small Engines. Use the Section of the File that Pertains to your Problem. Any Input is Appreciated. **Remove the Breather Assembly from the Carburetor. Grip the Gas Hose with Vice Grip Pliers to Stop the Gas Flow to the Carburetor. Remove the Gas Line at the Carburetor. Unbolt the Carburetor From the Engine and CAREFULLY Turn the Carburetor to Remove the Linkage from the Carburetor Throttle Thru Shaft and Choke (as Required). Now Disassemble the Carburetor, Soak and Clean. Reassemble the Carburetor and Re-Attach the Carburetor to the Engine. Connect the Gas Line and Remove the Pliers.** Now Blow Out the Carburetor with Compressed Air. Assemble and Attach the Carburetor back onto the Engine and you should be Ready to Go. You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp and Select Enter as Guest. Now Select the Thumbnail of the Engine Catalog you Wish to View. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
