Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tecumseh Snow King, trouble shooting guide, snow king

Question
I have a Tecumseh Snow King (LH195SA/LH195SP).  Last year I drained the fuel tank by running the engine until it stopped.  I just filled the tank.  I could smell gas and when I went back I had lost the whole tank of gas.  I checked the fule line, etc.  OK.  I put more gas in and could see it dripping from under the carburator.  Is there a clog somewhere?  Cause?  Fix?  Thanks.

Answer
Hello Tom:

Turn Off the Fuel Flow to the Carburetor and Remove the Fuel Line from the Carburetor. Remove the Carburetor Bowl and then Spray Lubricating Oil Into the Inlet Port of the Carburetor and onto the Float, Needle and Pin. Carefully Work the Float and Make Sure it is Moving Freely. Attach the Carburetor Bowl and the Fuel Line. Open the Fuel Flow to the Carburetor. If this Fails to Correct the Problem, then Remove the Carburetor and Clean. To Store the Unit you were Half Correct to Run the Engine Until the Carburetor was Dry. The Other Half the this Old Trick is to Make Sure you Use 2 Cycle Oil or Add a Small Amount of Cylinder Oil to the Last 1/2 Pint of Gas in the Tank. The Oil in the Gas/2 Cycle Mix Coats the Components and Protects them During the Down Time of the Engine.
