Question
I have an ariens model 824 8hp snowblower and need to replace a shear pin. The hole in auger is not aligned with the inside shaft how do i get the auger to rotate freely hope you can help thank you

Answer
Hello Jim:

You can View a Breakdown of the Mower at this Site Addy; http://www.jackssmallengines.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. The Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (Ariens) and Enter the Model Numbers (example: 924020-000101). Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area.Select the Sectional File. Now you can View the Section of the Mower that Pertains to this Repair.  If you want to Turn the Gear Box, then Turn the Pulley (#33) that Drives the Inpeller/Fan (#21). To Turn the Augers/Rakes if the Shear Bolt is Broken you should be Able to Use a Pull Bar and Rotate the Auger/Rake (#73 & 74) so it will Align the Shear Bolt (#73) Hole in it with the Shear Bolt Hole in the Gear Box Output Shaft. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
