Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): leaking carbuator, craftsman snowblower, vent hole

Question
I have a Craftsman snowblower, engine model #143.001103,Tecumson label on Gas tank. There is a gas leak out of a pin size hole on the outside of the carb just above where the rubber gas line is attached. Is this hole supposed to be there? If so why would it be leaking gas? Can i seal if need be?
Thanks

Answer
That is a vent hole, it needs to be open. Your carburetor has a problem causing t to flood the excess fuel it can not burn is backing up ad leaking out the air vent hole. This air hole is used to equalize pressure in the carburetor....You'll need to carefully clean the carb, and replace the internal parts like the needle, and seat. Great care must be taken to insure each, and every tiny like hole, and circuit is unblocked.....There are countless websites with illustrations showing, and explaining the procedure.....Tom
