Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Push Mower Engine Problem, murray briggs, briggs and stratton

Question
My Murry push mower starts fine, but it will only run at idle speed. I can make it run faster by manually working the govenor linkage on the carb., but when I release the linkage it goes back to idle. I changed the plug,  gas, air filter and cleaned the carb. bowl. It is a float-bowl carb. There is no throttle adjustment on the handle only the hold down bar that allows the mower to run at mowing speed. The cable works fine. Murry 22" Model 225111x92B. Briggs and Stratton engine, 6.0 hp Quantum throttle free design. The information sticker is gone but I did find this number pressed into the motor cover 12H802-2384-01. Over this number it said Model    Type. Is there some other place to find Model No. I hope this will help. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Answer
Hello Ron:

The Engine Model Numbers are the Ones you Sent me. Model # is 12H802 and the Type # is 2384-01. Most Times you Only Require the 12H802-2384 Numbers to Purchase Parts or Look at Online Breakdowns. Sometimes the Entire Model and Type Numbers are Required when Purchasing Internal Engine Components. The "Throttle Free" Design is as Follows: The Engine Idles All the Time, Unless it is Required to Rev when a Load (Heavy/Thick Grass, Water Pump, Generator/Welder, ect) is Place on the Engine/Crankshaft. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model (5 or 6 Digits) and Type Numbers (first 4 digits Only). Example: 12H802-2384. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Select Sectional Index. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. To View the Mower, Just Change the OEM to Murray (Briggs and Stratton) and Enter the Model Numbers 225111x92B. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
