Question
Hi John,  Could you help me with word picture or diagram for the routing of the fuel supply tubes between the gas tank and the carburetor and any helpful hints please. Also could you tell me the principle on how the fuel is pumped from the tank below to the carby above please. Thank you.

Answer
Hello Ron:

To View a Breakdown of this Unit Go to this Site Addy, http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action?sid=PSHx20080114x00001 and Enter the Model Numbers 358.799211 and Click Search. From this Page you can View Diagrams and Parts Lists for you Equipment Using the "View Sub Components" Section Near the Bottom Left. Select the Carburetor File. There is a Small Diaphragm (Metering Pump #s 1, 2, and 3) Inside the Carburetor and the Gas Tank Cap Vents 1 Way Only. This Allows a Certain Amount of Pressure to Build Inside the Tank and this Slight Pressure Assist the Metering Pump in the Carburetor to Keep the Carburetor Supplied with Gas. The Fuel Line is Pushed and Pulled (I Use Long Needle Nose Pliers) Through the Small Hole Until the Hose is Out the Fill Hole about a 1/2". Then Attach the Filter and Pull the Hose Back Until the Filter Lays at the Bottom of the Tank Just Below the Fill Hole. **Hint: Use Plenty of Spray Lubrication at the Small Hole as you are Feeding in the Hose. It Slides Easier.** If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
