Steering Column Repair: Security Alarm quiestion, buick park ave, stupid mistake

Question
Yes I have a 91 Buick Park Ave. And recently i had a stupid mistake made to the vehicle. I was upset one day and ripped down the gear lever to the column and the lock cylinder would not turn after this accident.
Needless to say I am paying for my mistake. I tried poping the lock cylinder out and turning it manualy, and had no luck with that. I also took off the ingnition switch and tried to switch the lever over manualy and had no luck with that due to the keyless entry security alarm.
So i figured i would just buy a new column for the vehicle, which I supprisingly was capable to find one at the junk yard for $145.00.
So i installed the new column, which was the same year color and wire coloration and everything. I went to start the vehicle and still had no luck, the security stayed lit and the it wouldnt start. I have check all the fuses and wiring and the starter to the vehicle everything seemed to be just fine. but the car still will not start.
I really need this vehicle for back and fourth to work. I got a pregnant wife that is jumping my bones to fix this car. If there is any helpul advice i could get i would truly appreciate it
. Due to my ignorance this has caused me and my wife alot of grief. please email me at    if there is any info for overriding the keyless entry or the security system.
I used to be a mechanic but im not a security alarm or factory OEM alarm mechanic so any advice would be helpful thank u and have a nice day.

Answer
Hi Michael:

GOOD NEWS!!  You're almost done and if the column is completely installed you don't need to do anything further on the car itself.
Here's all you need to do now.
Take the original key (with the chip on it) along with the replacement key to a locksmith.  DO NOT mix them up!!!  Have them read the chip on your original key and then cut a blank key with that same chip value to the same key cuts as the replacement key.  That way, the new key will have the correct value for the chip needed for your security system and will have the correct key cuts so it can turn the new replacement lock.  It should cost you between $20 & $30 for the new key.
Take the new key home and you should be able to start your car.
That's it.

I hope that helps...and good luck with your new baby.
