Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 3.7 PS chainsaw, chain oil, right position

Question
Just bought this used, when I try to pull it I can hardly turn it over. It has some kind of compreesion release that I do not know how it works. Is there a way to lessen the compression so I can pull it over. Thanks for your help

Answer
Your going to have to read the starting instructions that are usually on the saw. If there are on instructions for starting it there you can purchase a users manual at www.searspartsdirect.com      Each one is so different as to how their pressure release operates. Some when  the trigger is locked in place, others are set when the choke is fully closed. The other reason I have seen them hard pulling too is due to the fact a lot of people fail to keep the bar & chain oil full when cutting, this causes the clutch to over heat. When this happens the clutch brake cover melts from the high heat and starts to hold the brake on. Pull the brake side cover, and check for this condition. Also check that the anti kick-back handle is in the right position. Before starting it the chain should move freely on the bar.....Please remember to rate the answers, it so appreciated......Tom
