Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): WeedEater blower, stomach flu, arinet

Question
Hi, my name is brandon. I have a WeedEater Power blower 920.This particular one is 90's production and is 2 cycle air cooled. My problem is that the fuel is not flowing through the fuel line. I just cleaned the carb so it's not that. The engine only starts with starter fluid sprayed into the air intake and then will die. The gas tank is below the carb, so I'm wondering if maybe it needs to be syphoned through or if it needs something to pump the fuel through. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hello Brandon:

Sorry for the Delay. I Awoke Saturday Morning with the Stomach Flu and am Just Now able to Sit Up without a Problem. 1- Did you Check the Exhaust Port and Muffler? If Either of these are Restricted with Carbon Deposits, then the Engine May Run at Idle but will Flood when you Try to Rev the Engine above Idle. The Following is a Basic Instruction File for Doing a Diagnostic on the Engine for this Problem. Any Input is Appreciated. **Remove the Muffler and Make Sure the Exhaust Port is Clear. If it is, then Try to Start the engine with the Muffler Off. If it Starts and Runs Properly, then Clean the Spark Arrestor Screen in the Muffler or Replace the Muffler if Required. 2- Did you Change the IN Tank Fuel Filter? Did you Soak the Carburetor in Cleaning Solution? If Not, then the Carburetor is Still Dirty and can Still be Causing this Problem. Was the Fuel Inlet Screen in the Carburetor Cleaned? You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog Poulan/Weed Eater. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
