Mitsubishi Repair: my 95 eclips wont start, dhoc, oxygen sensor

i have an 95 eclips wiht the 2.0 DHOC wiht i have been told that its and turbo the enging has been replace about 5 years ago due to no oil in the enging, any ways i am having probles getting it to run i can place my hand ove the air intake and keep it running that away but i have got an fuel pump and filter and still wont ring right i can floor it and kinda keep it running but i have been told it could be the map sensor but i not sure i do losts of car work but this an new to me the 95 eclips RS manual, befor it started acting up like this i could floor it on the hyway and here it bog down like it was not running right but i could let up on it and it would pick up i need some help wiht this car thanks

Cresston: You need to go to a AutoZone to have the car coded, it sounds like to me that you have a bad or weak sensor or maybe more. You know there is a sensor in that air intake that could be weak. Sounds like your oxygen sensor could be bad too.But AutoZone would do this code thing for free then you would know for sure what sensors were out and get them fixed. You should have a tune up done on the car too, oil changed and new air filter. You need to go out and get yourself a repair manual. You can buy one at any parts store for around $20.00. It will walk you through what you need to be checking, try to get a Haynes as they have pictures too and do help people a lot. It takes three things for a car to run; air, stark and fuel but the computer has to mix all those things right. The computer gets the ideas on how to mix all that from sensors through out your car's engine. If one sensor is bad or weak, the computer still thinks everything is fine and trys to set the car up that way. So the car will either not run right or bad. So get that car coded see what sensors are bad and replace. Or else take your car to a shop and let them fix it for you. But that repair manual would be good for you to get, you could read up on your car and you would understand how it all works. Hope this helps and good luck!
