Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Poulan Chain Saw Starter Recoil, recoil springs, ordertree

Question
I have a Poulan Pro 42cc 18" chain saw with the SimPul system.  After several start, it became increasingly difficult to get the cord to recoil.  I have taken the assembly apart and it appears that the starting assist spring is messed up.  The recoil springs operates properly.  The entire assembly will operate correctly for one pull if I back out the retaining bolt about an 8th of a turn.  If I go much further the outer piece slips and does not turn the flywheel.  However, much tighter than that and the cord will not recoil at all.  Can this spring be replaced? If so, where can I find one?  Thanks for your time.

The parts (spring) is available seperately.  You will need you model number, something like PP4218AV, to look up the exact part(s) you need.
