Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Homelite 26cc leaf blower, backpack blowers, oil mixture

Question
I recently bought a factory reconditioned Homelite 26cc Gas Powered MightyLite Backpack Blower (no snickering).  I was able to get it started just fine.  Ran it on half choke for 10 seconds with the throttle in the locked open position.   Then I moved the choke to the run position and tried to give it full gas and the machine sounds like it is going to stall out, but doensn't.  It just sputters and is definitely not blowing near its capactity.  If I release the throttle slightly it will start running pretty well, no sputtering, but it is not operating anywhere near its capacity.  The gas/oil mixture is fine, but something isn't working quite right.

Answer
I sell the same reconditioned MightyLite back pack blowers, so no snickering here :) I have had that same issue on a few that I have sold, the identical same problem. All it needs is a very simple carb. adjustment. There is one screw marked "L". and another marked "H". "L" is for Low idle, "H" is for the high idle. Your lacking fuel when under a load. The High idle or "H" needs to be adjusted. Turning it in, or to the right closes off the amount of fuel, to the left allows more fuel. You'll want to let it warm up, then slowly, and in very little, almost tiny increments turn the "H" screw to the left, and try a full throttle. Keep slowly going in that direction until you can acquire a good high throttle. Not sure why This problem exists with the backpack blowers, I have had no problems with their other products like this. ...Please remember to give a rating, we really appreciate them.....Tom
