Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman model 358.796121, craftsman model, wrist pin

Question
What is the trick to removing the piston from the cylinder. I have only 20 psi compression and I wanted to check the rings. I removed the small wire ring on the piston to  connecting rod pin but cannot remove the pin. Is there some trick to removing this pin or do you have to remove the piston and rod as on piece.

Answer
Yes, you should be removing the piston and rod as a complete assembly, then knocking out the wrist pin when on the bench. We pull it all out as one unit.........Tom

That's why I have asked people to furnish me with ENGINE model numbers. You lack the ability to follow simple directions, you gave me the mower Model number, so you got a answer that covers 99% of small engines. Nor were you smart enough to even let me know it was a weedeater.....
