Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): john deere rx95 wont start, stuck in gear, john deere dealer, john deere service

Question
a friend of mine recently bought a john deere rx95. well he was mowing the other day and ran over a stick that got stuck so he turned the mower off in gear, now it wont start. when we lifted it up we found that the wheels dont turn freely so we assume its still in gear. any chance you can tell us how to remedy this problem, preferably with picture since both of us are lawmower dumb. thank you so much.

Answer
Sorry I don't have any pictures for that you would need a John Deere service manual.  I think you are talking about zero turned mower and the model is ZX 95.  If this is the case you may have opened the bypass valve.  These are the valve you to use so you can push the machine.  The other simple thing would be to be taken breakoff to be able to move the unit to break has to be off if it is in the on position and you try to move it to mower should die that way you can't blowout The hydros.  With it happening suddenly I would think it is a linkage problem.  The best way to find this will be to remove the mowing deck getting the tractor up behind Jack stands getting under the tractor and following the drive linkage from the operators position to the transmission.  Sorry about not having pictures but I do suggest going to a John Deere dealer and telling him it's like to purchase a service manual for this tractor John Deere prints excellent manuals that are easy to follow.  I hope this information has helped please could back to us if you need additional help.
