Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carb replacement, putty knife, walbro

Question
Hi, John.  I am replacing the carburetor (walbro) on my JD Sabre 1538Hydro.  Does it matter how the gaskets are installed?  In other words, can either side of the gasket be used facing in or out?  Can I remove the old gaskets with a clean putty knife?  Thank you!

Answer
Hello Mark:

As Long as the Holes in the Gaskets Align Properly, then Either Side is Good. A Clean Putty Knife is Fine. Just Remember to Remove ALL the Old Gasket. You can Use Emeory Cloth or 440 Grit Sand Paper if Required. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Good Luck
