Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Arctic Cat 90, carburetor jets, cam lobes

Question
Hello John, This is a follow-up question from yesterday regarding a 2002 Arctic Cat 90 Y-12 youth model (green).   The serial number is RFLNA092X2A510763.  That is the only number found on the unit.  I have been able to find breakdown on worldofpowersports.com.  As I mentioned in the last question I cleaned the carb and gas tank to rid it of the old gas turned to varnish.  The machine runs and idles however under the weight of a load it won't pull.  After checking the compression I found it only had 35-40 PSI.  What else can I check on the bike to get power or is the engine in need or a jug and rings to correct the problem?  Thanks again Randy

Answer
Hello Again Randy:

Has Anyone Checked the Cam Lobes? If the Cam Lobes are Worn Down you will have the Problem you Described. If the Timing Chain Jumps a Tooth or has Slack, you will have the Problem you Described. If you Did Not Soak the Carburetor, then it can Still be Restricting the Gas Flow through the Carburetor Jets and Passages. Thanks.
