QuestionI have a Craftsman LT1000, year unk., model 917-271740, SN 010201D002792 and the blades do not disengage when the selector is moved to the proper position. I determined that the action is a cable, but do not know if this can be adjusted, if so how? What has to be disassembled to get to the point where an adjustment can be made? If I have to replace the cable, how is this best done?
AnswerI'm sorry Tom, after looking at the diagrams for this model I am unexperienced with this certain one. Not to mention the diagram is not clear enough for me to determine the correct procedure to adjusting it, but does appear to have a adjustment. Go to www.searspartsdirect.com
put in the model number and a diagram can e seen of your model, as well as you can purchase any parts here too from Sears for this model. I just don't want to misinform you, if it was in front of me I could figure it out for certain....Tom
